KATHMANDU a Travelogue by Santhosh Kana

My new book, KATHAMANDU, a travelogue in Malayalam has been published. I cherish my three years' stay in Nepal and the love and affection shown by the people of Nepal. My book is based on my travels during those three years. The book has twenty three chapters and two of them are about the Malayalam film YODHA released in the year 1992 which was about a mystic bond between the protagonist and a Buddhist monk in Nepal. I was able to discover the actors and locations of the film like a miracle almost after two decades of its release. The book has been published by one of the leading and reputed publishers of Kerala, Green Books. The preface to the book is written by Shri.K.N.Shaji, a renowned journalist and writer.

This book, I am proud to say, is the first book written in Malayalam about Nepal/Kathmandu in detail. I thank KVS (Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan) for giving me the prestigious opportunity to serve abroad. I thank the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Nepal for extending warm welcome and great support at Kathmandu during the tenure. My beloved students, their parents, my dear colleagues and staff at Kv Kathmandu. Love you all. The families and friends of Kathmandu who treated me like a family member and pampered my love for travelling, traditional food and music. The Malayalees at Kathmandu for giving me great support and motivation by putting me in the limelight always in literary and cultural activities. My love to all the people who in various ways helped me explore a lot without and within. I don't dare claim to have discovered the beautiful country Nepal. It is such a vast and beautiful country with myriad culture, customs and tribes. Please take my book as my token of love and gratitude to Nepal, the country of eternal beauty and mystic charm. I would love to repeat the tourism tagline: Once is not enough.
